Reading Incentive Program Info

The ECC is excited to announce the theme of this year’s reading incentive program-
“We are all reading CHAMPS!”

This is how it works.  Students will bring home a reading log each month, from October to May.  The goal is to read 20 books or 200 minutes per month, but of course, they are always welcome to read more than that!  When they bring back their sheet at the end of each month, students will put a sticker on their special trophy page.  By May, students will have had the opportunity to earn 8 stickers.  When they put on their last sticker, we will celebrate with a book sale and a parade!  At the book sale, students will show their trophy page and be given new or gently used books for a job well done.  Students who reached their goal for every single month will put their name in a drawing for a new book purchased by the PTO.  Finally, we will celebrate with a sports themed parade in May.  Students will dress up in their favorite sports attire and we will parade around the outside of the school.  Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade!  The date and time will be announced later in the year.  Also, throughout the year, students from the high school sports teams will be visiting with the students to read a book related to their sport.

We look forward to lots of reading and celebrating!  If you have any new or gently used children’s books that you would like to donate, please send them in or place them in the bin in the ECC lobby.  Thanks for your help!

Kindergarten and First Grade Teachers

Miss Fedor, Student Teacher

Hello everyone!  Miss Fedor, my student teacher, has been wonderful with your kiddos this year!  She's really taken the time to get to know them and to work with each one of them to help them grow over the last couple of weeks!  Because she is going to school for both regular education and special education, her time with us will come to an end on October 16th so that she can go to her next placement.

I've purchased a teacher bag for her and am going to fill it with fun teacher stuff and treats.  If you would like to donate anything to her bag, please send it to school with your child and I will add it to the special bag.  We'll also be making her a book so that she can remember her special time with us.

Thanks!
Mindy :)

Field Trip on Wednesday

Just a reminder that our field trip is on Wednesday morning!  Please make sure your kiddo wears sneakers and brings a sweatshirt just in case!  There is no need to pack a lunch because we will be back in time for lunch.  Fun! :)
